About

I’m Kumoulica Allu, a Cybersecurity Engineer currently pursuing my Master of Science in Cybersecurity at The University of Houston. With a strong foundation in Cybersecurity, Networking, and Digital Forensics, I focus on securing systems, analyzing threats, and protecting critical infrastructure.

I am passionate about vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection, and security operations, with hands-on experience using tools like Wireshark, Snort, Security Onion, SIEM, OSINT tools, Kali Linux, Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit, Splunk, and Digital Forensics tools. I also have experience with Python, Shell Scripting, SQL, and DataWeave to automate and analyze security data.

Currently, I’m seeking a full-time cybersecurity role where I can contribute to defending systems, analyzing threats, and strengthening organizational security while continuing to grow my skills.

Through this program, I’ve developed strong skills in threat analysis, risk management, secure system design, and applying data science techniques to enhance cybersecurity solutions.

During my studies, I gained a strong foundation in subjects like System Security, Applied Cryptography, Vulnerability Assessment , Secure Software Engineering, Cyber Forensics, Network Security, Web Application Security, and Distributed Systems. Network Intrusion Detection using LIME

A real-time network intrusion detection system that captures and processes network traffic to detect and classify malicious activity using machine learning models. The system utilizes Random Forest and Autoencoder models for classification and anomaly detection. It features a Flask-based real-time dashboard for monitoring, integrates LIME for explainable AI, and uses Plotly for visualizing anomalies. The system detects threats like DDoS attacks and botnets, providing real-time alerts and insights to security analysts.

INSTAGUARD: Fake Instagram Profile Detection

INSTAGUARD is a machine learning-powered web application designed to detect fake profiles on social media platforms like Instagram. Users can input profile details, and the system predicts account authenticity based on features such as profile pictures, post frequency, follower count, and user behavior. The application uses an Adaboost ML model with REST API integration to analyze data and provide real-time predictions, helping individuals and businesses identify fraudulent accounts and improve online security.

Marvels Mall is a superhero-themed web project that brings the Marvel universe to life through a visually engaging and interactive interface. Built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, it includes dedicated sections for characters, themed products, and smooth navigation. The project reflects strong UI/UX principles, ensuring an intuitive and enjoyable user experience. Creative elements like Google Fonts and Material Icons enhance the overall aesthetic, making the site both functional and appealing. This project demonstrates a blend of technical skills and design thinking to create a dynamic web experience.

Worked on multiple cutting-edge research projects focused on steganography and steganalysis using deep learning techniques, exploring the detection of hidden information within digital images. Additionally, I worked on image noising and denoising using the MNIST dataset to study the robustness of neural networks against noisy data. Collaborated on a project involving 3D image modeling and data augmentation for long-tailed instance segmentation, where I utilized Blender (3D modeling software) to generate realistic synthetic 3D images. These synthetic datasets were instrumental in enhancing model performance for rare classes in imbalanced datasets. This internship provided hands-on experience in deep learning, image processing, synthetic data generation, and advanced data augmentation strategies.

A Construction of Smart Grid Authentication and Key Agreement System Using ECC Cryptography

The smart grids consists different components. These components include corrosion resistant paint, gas pipelines, massive high voltage transformers. One of the most vital component of smart grid is smart-meter. Throughout this work, we examined the safety and security of the smart grid (SG) authentication protocols. One significant security challenge with Smart Grid is the provision of authentication and keys. Our analysis of security has demonstrated that the proposed framework satisfies the security requirements for smart grid applications, and our cost benefit analysis has been demonstrated. We have analysed the performance the protocol, and it is more secure than existing one.

Conducted an in-depth community needs assessment in Chenchu Colony by engaging with local residents, community leaders, and government officials. Identified critical challenges in areas such as access to clean water, sanitation facilities, agricultural resources, educational opportunities, and healthcare services. Compiled comprehensive reports outlining actionable solutions and recommendations to address the identified issues, supporting local development efforts and improving living standards.

UH Engineering Career Fair

Volunteered at the University of Houston Engineering Career Fair, assisting in event organization, registration management, and coordination of employer booths. Provided support to both recruiters and students, helping with logistics, answering queries, and ensuring smooth event flow. Collaborated with event staff to manage schedules, monitor attendance, and address on-site challenges, contributing to the overall success of the event and enhancing the networking experience for participants.

Environmental Initiatives – Sustainability Drives

Led and organized various environmental sustainability initiatives focused on promoting eco-friendly practices within the community. Conducted tree planting drives to enhance green cover, implemented awareness campaigns on waste management and water conservation, and collaborated with local organizations to promote long-term environmental stewardship. These efforts contributed to raising awareness and fostering collective responsibility towards environmental preservation.
